HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AMENDMENTS TO H.B. 2226

Strike everything after the enacting clause and insert:
"Section 1. Title 36, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-124, to read:
36-124. Fentanyl and opioid treatment and support fund
A. The fentanyl and opioid treatment and support fund is established consisting of monies appropriated to the fund by the legislature. The department shall administer the fund. Monies in the fund are continuously appropriated. The department shall allocate monies in the fund on a first-come, first-served basis to county health departments to provide treatment and recovery programs for opioid addiction and to provide grants for the treatment and recovery programs for opioid addiction.
B. Monies in the fentanyl and opioid treatment and support fund are exempt from the provisions of section 35-190 relating to lapsing of appropriations.
Section 2. Appropriation; fentanyl and opioid treatment and support fund
The sum of $5,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2023-2024 to the fentanyl and opioid treatment and support fund established by section 36-124, Arizona Revised Statutes, as added by this act."
